Phases of care
This section briefly summarizes the phases of care in our office. There is not one phase of care that is more important than the other and not all conditions require all phases of care. The number of treatments needed to correct your problem varies, depending upon factors such as age, activity level, occupation, length of time condition has been present, and diagnosis.

Relief care
During this initial phase of care the main goal is to reduce or eliminate pain. For most conditions this is usually the shortest phase of care. Unfortunately, at the end of this phase, some patients make the mistake to discontinue care because their pain has subsided. These patients usually suffer a reoccurrence and learn that the absence of pain does not mean their problem has been fixed. During this phase, appointments can be 1-3 times per week.

Reactivation
This is the second phase of care. During this phase, the main objective is to improve pain-free range of motion of the effected area. During this phase of care it is usually recommended to stay as active as possible and to gradually increase activity as long as symptoms do not increase. This is also the phase that in-office or home exercises begin. It is the patient’s responsibility to follow these exercises.  During this phase appointments are typically reduced.

Rehabilitation
This is the third and final phase of care. The objective during this phase is to strengthen and reinforce the goals of phase two. It is very important to complete this phase of care to ensure the maximum benefit of treatment. Most of the in-office work at this point is complete and appointments are usually infrequent.
